16Jun Introducing the new Zimbabwearts.org
On Saturday I uploaded the new version of ZimbabweArts.org. The theme is pretty much the same as the one done by Osato Dixon for the previous site. The difference is all in the engine running the site now.
The new site runs on Joomla- compared to the flat html pages of the previous one. I did think about using Wordpress, but for this particular project I felt that Joomla would provide the necessary functionality and flexibility.
The site features embedded video, an artists’ directory, an events calendar for the Book Café and the Mannenberg and links to other arts and culture websites. There is still some work to be done with getting the content fully up to date.
