A few months ago an interesting technology venture began in Harare. The idea was simple, to offer Zimbabweans wherever they are in the world an SMS gateway, that’s both cheap and fast, focussing on bulk sms services.

Today the main HarvestSMS website went up. It took me three days to develop, using Wordpress.

Wordpress, though developed as a blogging platform, can very easily be modified to build a website. It is more lightweight than Joomla and I HIGHLY recommend it for simpler sites that require a content management system.
