02Oct A website for a promising star

It must have been February this year when I first had a meeting with Kudzai Sevenzo to discuss a website for her.
She was aware of how expensive it is to get a professional site done and wondered out loud how much it would cost.
I told her I would do a site for her at no cost as I wanted to push artists in Zimbabwe to use the Internet more for their marketing and if there was at least ONE Zimbabwean artist who had a professional, up to date site it would help the cause.
Over the last few months we have thrown some ideas around and met to discuss the project and look at optional looks for the site. She had a photo shoot done- professionally- by one Dave Brazier- and that made all the difference. It cost money, yes, but when you see the site I’m sure you’ll agree with me that great photography makes all the difference.
This afternoon I had a meeting with Kudzi to present the final site. This is always a tense time for me- presenting a piece of work. I appreciate constructive criticism, but there’s always that tension…
She loved the website. A few more changes and we will put it up.
