01Sep A blog for every Zimbabwean
It’s up! It’s up! Yay! Yay! Yay!
Zimbablog is up and running- after a five day marathon of brainstorming and web development! I must take a break now then come back and optimise some things.
Here’s the idea behind the site: For many people, the thought of running a blog is daunting. Setting one up is easy enough. Go to blogspot, click on a few links and VOILA you have a blog! BUT, actually running the blog can be a pain. Where do you find the content to post on a regular basis? How do you keep people coming to the blog? Tough questions for millions of bloggers the world over.
However, imagine if you shared a blog with other people so that if you didn’t make a post for a month or three months even, it wouldn’t matter because other people were posting, catching your slack and keeping the visitors coming. When you do get inspired to post, you can log in, make a post and no sweat- there are regular visitors to the site who will read your article.
Moreover, you are able to read other people’s posts, comment on them and interact with like thinkers. You are also able to get an overview of what other people are thinking and going through. You do not have to worry about marketing the blog as there is someone whose job it is to do that.
You’ve got your own page on the blog that gives visitors your profile and lists the articles that you have posted. It’s a win win all the way.
That led to the birth of an idea that became Zimbablog. Many thanks to Shingie for supporting the idea- as with so many others.
